The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in Alabama is administered by the Food Assistance Division. Its purpose is to provide monthly benefits to low-income families/households so that they can purchase nutritious food at authorized grocery stores, farmers' markets and other retailers.
Individuals must apply for the SNAP program. An application must be filled out and all supporting documentation must be provided. When approved, SNAP benefits are issued monthly and put on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which looks just like a credit card. The benefit amount depends on number of individuals in household, income, expenses, and other factors pertinent to program guidelines.

Special Note:The Alabama Elderly Simplified Application Project (AESAP) is an application process for households where all the members are 60 years of age or older and have no earned income.

Never answer phones. I've been trying to apply for weeks and haven't heard one thing. It's sad because these people don't care.
I have been calling for 4 days and can not get a human on the phone. I have not got my food stamps for this month yet.
